2011 Z4 Sdrive 35i - waste gate repair costs?

I picked up a 2011 Z4 Sdrive35i as a fun car to putter with and am starting to work through a list of things to approach. I've replaced salmon relays, installed a SmartTop, cleaned out the wiper fluid res and replaced the wash pump. The normal consumables, wipers, air filters, an amazingly disgusting cabin air filter. I've discovered that one of the rims is cracked, so I'm looking for a deal on that 9x19.. its a hunt.

I'm hearing what everyone has called the waste gate rattle. I'm wondering how easy such a thing is to take on myself, or get an understanding of what a mechanic should be charging me for the right exhaust pipe rattle versus the turbo rattle, or both. Has anyone done this calculus to make this decision and would be willing to share with me? Thanks in advance.

Love the sound of the car once its warmed up, (which is how I bought it without hearing the rattle), but fixing it would make me much happier.

Hi Christopher and welcome to the forum, it would have been better to have introduced yourself in the Newbie’s section. Why do you think it’s the wastegate rattle? That’s normally heard above 3000 revels when lifting off the throttle whether cold or hot.

Apologies on the board etiquette foul, it was non intentional. Thank you for your reply.

Perhaps I'm mistaken and thinking of a worse problem than it is. The rattle is heard after starting in the right rear - there's a flap back there with a hydraulic that I can see. While driving I'll hear it slightly when going low speeds echoing off a building occasionally, but rarely at 50mph+. But that maybe more of a factor of wind blocking my hearing.
