Hi guys,
I have removed the rear view mirror and the dome light assembly but i need advice on the removal of the long plastic panel running along the top of the windscreen and the left and right panels running down the windscreen pillars, also do i need to remove any top of dashboard panels along the bottom of the w/screen ?. Yes i have plastic pry's and small fingers but i don't want pry or pull in the wrong place and crack the panels.

The long trim across the top of the windscreen is held in by 2 sets of self tappers that hold the sun visors in place..

Then you can pull the a pillar trim out ..it comes out pretty straight..

Like most things on E89s there’s a certain technique to removing trim..suggest you look at YouTube for a pillar cover removals.

Thanks B21,
I had already removed both sunvisors prior to my post but forgot to say ha ha, however i have already gently pulled down on the long panel along the length of it and you can normally get a feel where one of those chrome plated metal diamond shaped retaining clips are but i am a bit averse to pulling too hard for fear of breaking it, i know those clips can sometimes be tight only i thought someone might give me some approximate locations of them.

The long panel has no clips..you pull it back into the cabin not down..

Thanks again B21,
Sorry for the delay in answering you but had a family committment. So yeah i opened the roof and it came out fairly easily. Cheers.
Perhaps you could help with finding the interior seats, trim etc. colour name and number. My Z4 bodywork i know to be "475 Sappire Black" however the "Red" interior looks like "Coral Red" but i need to be sure, i read somewhere that you need to take a seat out and turn it upside down and find the label stitched to the seat cover material/leather.
