Hi Guys,

Finally part of the club now got a 23i manual but it needs a little tlc.

I only have two things that are slightly niggly things and one question i wanted a bit of advice on.

First off the drivers seat bolsters arent actuating properly, the switch seems to work clicking it you can hear a buzz but then nothing not sure if anyone can help me troubleshoot it.

Second thing is I wanted to upgrade the audio it looks like its the standard radio with aux it doesnt have the 10 speaker upgrade as the one in the back between the seats is empty.

I wanted to swap the head unit out but I was told it can cause further issues could anyone tell me what i might run into?
I already know i might need some extra kit for the reverse sensor beeps.

Thanks guys!

Congrats on getting a Zed fella, hope it’s all you want from a car.

Firstly, your post is in the E85 section, they’re a rowdy troublesome lot so best get it moved upstairs to more.....’favourable’ surroundings....

Sounds like the air pipe to the seat bolsters has come off the pump if you can hear that working, I’m not sure how easy it is to get to it though, maybe someone who has done it on here will pop on and say, other than that it’s down to head scratching and trial and error I guess.

Being pedantic the E89 doesn’t have 10 speakers, it’s either 6, 11 or 14, being business, advanced and pro respectively.
If you don’t have the two subs behind each seat then you have the 6 speaker business. That being the case I ‘think’ the head unit powers the speakers as there’s no separate amp for the business so it should be an easy swap out for a better head unit, you can add better quality speakers matching the output as well then. However if you have the sat nav and idrive it becomes more complicated as the head unit is linked to the idrive, I’m pretty sure you can get an adapter lead but a good car audio centre is your place to visit for this.

Best of luck, hope you enjoy the forum.
