Hi and welcome to the forum, your car looks like nice clean original example.

with regards to the gauge readings in KPH, I was in the same situation as I imported my UK car to Spain. Apart from activating the digital speedo I actually replaced the guage faces as per the following post, it's a very simple mod and looks super cool!

Looks like they no longer stock E85/E89 versions.. :tumbleweed:

I don't think they ever listed them on their website for whatever reason. But since they made mine and they bought an E89 instrument cluster to make the tooling from, they must still do them. Best to send them an email.

Ah..if I can get the 35is logo put on I could sell a low cost 35is upgrade, as that is the ONLY thing that is unique to a35is!!! :fuelfire:

At the time they cost me $55 plus shipping. I can dig out their email address, if you need it PM me.

Road tax on this thing in IE is €1250 (even more for the 3.0L).
Insurance is ~€850/yr as a named driver with 8 years+ experience.

Wow, I just purchased road tax for my 35i (3.0L) here in NZ and it cost around 50 quid:

Expiry date of new licence: 12 Nov 2022
Licence period: 12 month(s)
Fee: $109.16 (Incl GST)

My annual insurance is around $550, but it is insured as a second car as I have an M5 for daily driving. But we pay around $2.60 per liter for 98 petrol here :o

Yeah, we get stuffed with tax & insurance in Ireland.

Can only have one car on an insurance policy. For a second car one has to take out a second policy and start as a new policy holder with no background.
I was lucky to have been a named driver on my wife's policy for 8+years as well as having my own policy for the 320D.

I was lucky enough to have even called up an insurance company on this basis and asked them about it. Imagine my surprise when they returned with a not so silly quote.

As for the road tax, I will have to tax it for 6 months and use the 320D the rest of the time.

It suits me as it means I drive both cars during the year with each of them getting a bit of rest and not piling on the mileage.
The 3 series will be used for longer distances, work trips and family holidays where a diesel makes sense.

The Z4 will be used when it's just me or my partner & I wanting to take a spin in the countryside.

... Oh, and we also have (dare I say it on this forum) a Saab 93 with about 50K miles that's the daily family driver with us as the second owners.

It's a different car, but similar to the Z4's it has paddle shift, heated seats, cruise control, steptronic.

My Z4 does not have cruise control - - why, why, why???
It's a UK car, how did they skimp on this & CIC?

I will be doing the cruise control mod soon because I find that I do use it on both the other cars on the motorway.

Petrol here is €1.71 now.

Every time I read a thread like this I get a bit upset!

Road tax on my MC is £600 a year, but insurance cost £345 in June. Tesco Momentum is £1.479 per litre at present.

Then I read about prices in Ireland and feel so much better. :D

Apologies to wanderer BTW. If you pay prices like that you are a true enthusiast.

tis OK! :)

I am happy to have such a mint car. Just waiting on the new rims & tires.

I said to my partner a few days ago that it's very strange that of the two convertibles we have owned, both have been the same colour.

I sold the previous one with the intention of getting it in a different version but never managed to (Volvo C70).

I must say though that this E89, although smaller, is like a cat. It's very well balanced in terms of visuals but also in terms of weight distribution etc.

All cars have their problems. Hardtops more so than others perhaps, but you have to be committed.

Car is polished & ceramic coating applied.
Wheels are on the way.
Gummi pflege stuck with customs in the post office (Brexit crap).

Next week may see the stubby aerial, lci indicators & a few bits ordered.

Do I debadge or not?

Then I have to decide to store or drive.

One more Carly observation.
It flagged up an AUC sensor fault on the E89, and I ended up ordering one as part of another order I was putting in.

Then I ran Carly on the E90 and guess what, AUC fault again.

My C110 unit pulled up no such fault code on the E90.
Will run it again in the morning on the E89.

Carly is a 2nd division diagnostic tool…for BMW E89s and later Bimmergeeks Protool is the best app based diagnostic tool…

Having tried them all that’s where I ended up…
