In Colombia the BMW dealer sold the last E85 and E86, production date august 2008 as model 2009. Does anyone have another E86 model 2009? Or this only happened in South America?

I don't think they ever sold as 2009s here. I would call it a 2008, especially when looking for parts. What does the window sticker say?

Just been to my dealer and there's an 09 e85 and an e86. Think quite a few were registered in the UK as 09s, and are excellent value too.

No Windows sticker here, but in the customs papers it's written production august 2008, model 2009.

What about on the drivers side door jam. There might be some sort of data plate on there though I'm not sure if it has the E#.

Have you tried going to http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do
I saw that they have a vin # search. I want to say I've used it but I may have found a bimmer vin search thing somewhere's else. I remember it gave a lot of information.

Thanks for your advise, I search and found some data from the VIM:
My zed was made in Germany the VIM starts with a W (germany) and the ninth character for year it's 9 for 2009.

What's the tenth character?
Ninth character is the vin check digit.

Sorry I made a mistake. the tenth number is the year, in this case 9 for 2009. Here it's a great link about the VIN number. http://www.autohausaz.com/bmw-auto-parts/bmw-vehicle-identification-numbers.html

What's the last seven of your vin number?

What's your FIRST number and 11th letter? As above, you need ALL the numbers , not just the first.

Also, if you do a search we had a long discussion with someone who thought their car was made in Germany as well. I've seen the last car off the assembly line in SC-stratus grey roadster-day before HC 08. NO E85 or E86 were made in Germany.

I've been checking my VIN and it is one of the last coupes at production only about 20 more made after. I used the realoem VIN.
Does some one else in the Forum have one of this last ones?
Z4C VIN starts with LZ and from LZ32000 to LZ32159, are europe LHD. Does someone has looked how many RHD europe where made?

i have a 2009 coupe, registered 30 03 09

looking on the log book, the first letter is W which means German manufactured

i'm slightly confused with this 10th character, again from the log book my 10th character is 0, when it stops raing i'll have a look on the car and confirm the VIN number

confused

http://www.autohausaz.com/bmw-auto-parts/bmw-vehicle-identification-numbers.html

according to the above site, the 10th letter is the year, i've been and looked on car and confirmed the chasis number, mine is 0 which relates to nothing

does anybody else have a 0 for 10th character

Option S983A is model year export
Option S993A is model year code in VIN

I assume that the folks with 9 have S983A
Cars with 0 have neither.

Ask your dealer what the two options are and if your year is in the VIN.
