2009 Coupe - What's it worth?

Ok, I guess normally it does not matter but after the end of a production run it is rather obvious that the car was left hanging around.

Indeed - My car was a BMW spec'd and owned car yet the production date was 05/10/2006 but it was registered 09/03/2007.

I understand that BMW owned cars could only be kept for 3 months - 1 year (varying reports) unfortunately I dont have the previous owner details to know for sure..
 
Time for me to come out of the shadows! I have been playing with getting a Z4MC in the new year as my daily driver (have access to the wife's car for really bad weather) but just want to have a fun car once I return my works 320D coupe in Jan. But looking at the running costs (maintanence / fuel) I can see the sense in this lovely car!

@DPG - when would you be looking to move this on? Looking at your pics I think we may be near each other - I am based in Slaithwaite (huddersfield) so would be interested in having a view if you do go with a pvt sale.

@others (sorry DPG) - will I regret not going for the M? Like I said, daily drive, 12k miles a year and not looking to race the local golfs!

The cheapest Z4MC on PH is a 2007 with 70k miles at £16k. In two years you would have a ten year old M nearing the value-destroying 100k miles barrier. The cheapest on AT is a 2006 100k miler at £12. With the running cost issues they certainly wouldn't be my choice as a daily driver but could live with a newer, low mileage Si. . Choices :headbang:

Both good cars imo the non (M) engine is lovely I think anyway and it could be argued the non (M) is slightly more suited to a daily driver, a few criticise the electric steering on the non (M) but the Z4M is hydraulic so gives more feel and the Z4M doesn't have the dreaded runflats.

I personally wouldn't have wanted to use my old Z4M as a daily and I purchased it as a weekender anyway but when I went on a long run in it the ride/gearbox frustrated me a bit but plenty use them as a daily and are as happy as larry. :)

I would say take both out and see what you think :driving:

Take the rear spoiler off and sell it privately. Is it genuine bmw or after market?
 
Everybody is different. I wouldnt even bother with the M - No real styling differences, additionally pointless power (for me), extra cost to buy, extra cost to service, extra cost to run, no auto option, greater depreciation rates, less mileage for your money, less boot space, etc, etc the list goes on and on.

However I'm the sort of person who is quite happy with 150bhp / ton so you need to see whats important to you..

Agree with most you have said however I think the depreciation on the ///M's has bottomed out. They are certainly no worse than non ///M coupes and ///M roadsters will be much better than non ///M roadsters. For example I lost 4k per annum on my 2.5si, where as I have lost probably £500 pa on my current one. Main reason as said prices are as low as they are going to go at any pace.

Insurance is also cheaper than non ///M's for most that have upgraded.

I think it might be worth leaving on for a few days more, just in case somebody wants the car with it on ;)
