FOR SALE 2009 BMW Z4M Roadster 3.2

For Sale
The other issue you have here is that the roadster just isnt as sought after. They are amazing buys at 10-15k but at 20+ most people would take a coupe.
I must admit when I saw the price, I thought the seller may have taken E86 M prices as a guide. As said the roadster just isn't holding it's value for whatever reason.
You can get a good E86M with that mileage for the asking price easily.

However, if you look at the cost of a new M3 the depreciation of that in the first year pays for years and years of Z4M maintenance.
Man maths at it's finest. I thought those kind of irrelevant statements were reserved for wives only to justify the costs of things.

Looks a beaut 👍

Purely IMHO having had 3 and still got one, your excellent mods adding value to someone wanting one modded;

Alpha tune and box £700 ish
KW’s ££8-900 depending on miles used
Exhaust £200 unless they’re Remus, Stromung, RPI’s etc, etc,
Steering wheel £0 Probably a negative point
Rod bearings probably nothing as to get anywhere a fair price they need to be done at this mileage to anyone with knowledge of M’s
The rest is as it should be for a nice example as this one clearly is.

In this market £14000 tops
Spring £15000 tops

There’s a 37k miler all options ticked on at £22k from a trader which has been there for quite a while now, I’d think some hard haggling you’d get that for £18500-19000

Only my thoughts of course.

Personally I’d go for yours it if I was in a position to but for price I’m stating above, because as a car disregarding price it looks excellent. 👌

It really is a shame actually especially given the spend and tlc this car has had, it should be worth the ask as with the bearings done and I’d imagine the crank inspected, there’s nothing apart from potential vanos and diff issues really thats a big-ish spend left to go south.

I think VED, fuel prices and cost of parts, servicing have popped the M’s bubble unfortunately. ☹️

Not for E86M it hasn't. Same running costs, yet the coupe prices are staying really strong (or at least the asking prices are).

Yeah but asking prices are strong for roadies too Pondy and the same ones are still for sale a year on.

No idea on the squatting shitting dog ones tbh, got zero interest in them…🫣😆

If I could afford or even had a Z4m, I doubt I'd drive it any differently to my 3.0. for a lot less than £20k I could buy the parts to make my 3.0 look like a Z4m. For .2 increase in engine size, a different bonnet and bumpers, I don't feel that it's worth it. Absolutely, it's a nice to have and I love the colour of the imola red Z4m that belongs to Tim a member of the midlands group, it's a stunning vehicle. Could I justify the cost for something that's simply a nice to have, probably not. Credit to those who do have the desire and funds, but not for me. £20k could be better spent elsewhere.

But that 0.2 litre extra does give you another 100 bhp which is quite a difference! Trust me if you had an M I can't imagine you wouldn't explore the upper reaches of the rev counter now and again. :D

Although I can understand an M isn't for everyone - I just had to scratch that itch while I still could after more than 5 years of 3.0Si ownership.

Plenty has been said about this one already, but IMHO it's way too dear. Still if you don't ask you don't get!

I rarely explore the upper reaches of my 3.0. it sounds great but I have no desire to push towards the red line.

I'm from Yorkshire. Of course it's way too dear. I agree with you.

I can't resist the temptation - otherwise I might as well have just used my 3 Series daily.

FWIW I don't think you would enjoy most of the organised Trips that get posted on here.

If that was the case everyone would own the smallest-engined, slowest version of whatever car they wanted, so there would be no choice.

I am looking at 550bhp V8s at the moment. I drive like an old lady these days. I will never use the power but that's not the point.

But you might need it to get to the summit of the picturesque fens.

It looks like parts of Spaldingski are 5m above sea level!

I retire in about 20 years. I might have the time to go on such trips then. At this point of my life with family and work, I simply cannot swan off on my own and not use my annual leave with the family

No they ain't. We are about 2m BELOW sea level. I still can't work out how we are not constantly underwater. Something to do with the clever Dutch and their drainage wizardry apparently.

Might as well swap your 3.0 for a 2.0 then, as it’s not much slower most of the time ;)
