Hi all, I have been agonising for a few days over whether to sell my Z4.
I’ve only had it for around 6 months and have fallen in love with the looks, the straight 6 sound, and the feeling of each journey being a bit of an ‘event’. But despite this I’m having to face the fact that my partner’s back and neck problems are being exacerbated by the Z4’s 'sporty' ride combined with the very poor roads around our area. During my ownership I have fitted Avon non-runflat tyres all round and replaced the non-standard rear springs (also renewed the rear shocks) in an effort soften the ride for my partner. In my opinion the car now rides very well and is the perfect balance of solid road holding with a reasonably compliant ride. However, we’ve had to accept that this type of car just doesn’t suit her, which is a real shame because our intention was for the Z4 to be used for weekend drives to the coast etc. I have an old diesel Octavia for commuting, so I’m worried the Z4 just won’t get used much.
Anyway, onto the details of the car. It’s a 59 plate Sdrive30i, N52 engine, manual transmission, deep sea blue with white leather interior (manual sports seats). It currently has just over 114k miles with MOT to December. I bought it earlier this year as a private cash sale off the previous owner who’d owned it since around 4,000 miles, so it was pretty much a one owner car. He gave me the full history file which shows regular servicing at BMW for many years, followed by a BMW specialist for the last few years. He has had the battery recall done, which included a BMW health check report (print out document is included in the file). The history also shows that amongst other things, work has been done to the roof mechanism which includes preventative maintenance to rectify wire chafing etc. As a result it all functions perfectly.
The car drives spot on and given the age and mileage I think is in very good condition. As you would expect after 10 years / 100k miles there are minor defects to the paint work and interior when examined closely, but nothing major that detracts from the overall feel that it has been generally well looked after during its lifetime. I took my previous BMW (E39 540i) from 100k miles up to 250k over my 10 year ownership so I had no qualms about the mileage of the Z4.
I am asking £7,250 ono which must make it one of the cheapest 3 litre E89’s for sale at the moment.
We are located in Headley Hampshire, anyone with a serious interest is very welcome to come and look but if you want to test drive I would ask that you arrange fully comp insurance (temporary test drive insurance is easily / cheaply arranged using something like Cuvva).
I'll try to get some better pics up in the coming days [NEW PICS NOW ADDED] but in the meantime please message me with any questions.
Thanks,
Jules.
