I've had the car just over 4 years now but am selling due to starting a family, this is a very reluctant sale. Always well looked after, receipts for all work kept. A few subtle and tasteful (in my opinion) cosmetic changes including gunsmoke grey alloy wheel refurb, metallic blue body coloured brake callipers, aluminium pedals to match door metal door kick plates. Headphone jack for radio. MOT until March 2022. The car is in good condition with one small dent on the passenger side above the wheel and a few scratches about the rear driver side wheel arch. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rear tyres, fronts are as I purchased them.
Next MOT due 16/03/2022,
Purchased with no service book but all records kept under my ownership with mileage recorded. Brand new set of rear brake discs, currently on EBC yellow stuff pads but have a set of standard partly used pads, spare wear sensor, and unopened Auto Glym soft top cleaner will come with the sale.
Based in Letchworth Garden City, happy to provide further pictures.
Looking for £5,000 but open to offers
Mileage 70575

Been so close to messaging you about taking a look at your Zed, love the colour and the wheels look great against the blue.

Still trying to hold out for a 3l.

Just a thought...but if you're holding out for a 3.0si at this price you could be waiting a long time. If it's a 3.0i pre-facelift you want, then from what I hear, there isn't much difference between a 2.5si and 3.0i - plus you get the added benefit of the M Sport seats and updated front and rear bumpers on the si (and probably some other little bits as well).

Thanks guys,
That's partly why I went for the 2.5si over a pre facelift 3, a bit newer, pretty much the same power, less potential engine issues to look for an less tax, not that we really buy these for low tax!

Sounds cheap ? nice colour and spec.
Has it had a bonnet replaced? only the underside of it in the pictures is black?

@NS66 It's not had the bonnet replaced while I've been the owner, but I can't guarantee if it has previously or not. There's nothing on the hpi.

The two models I’m torn between are the 3l (pre facelift) or 2.5si. Also lead to believe there’s not much difference between the power of each but the child in me wants (needs) the 3l.

I’m away till next week but am tempted to come and take a look as I’m only around the corner.

Having owned both, albeit with a few years in-between, there really isn't much difference!

I believe all Zeds of this era came with a dark colour under the bonnet and the boot lid, for reasons best known to BMW.

The underside of my bonnet is black as well (same model & colour), so I would guess it's the original item.

There’s some difference in character between the M54 and higher revving N52, and the black top N52(k) is the best looking if you care about that sort of thing. 3.0i can be had pretty cheaply, but 3.0Si can’t. IMO the pre-facelift 2.5i has plenty of performance and the 2.5Si has 25 more bhp. 2.5Si would be my choice for the money and this one looks like a good’un.

Looks like the car was sold to a dealer and it's gone on auto trader for 3.5k more.

What a shame missed out on this.

Make an offer to the dealer? Even if you get it down to say 6000-6500 it's still a good buy in this market given mileage, spec and condition.

I am thinking of selling mine but after dumping so much money on TLC and restoration lately, I'd need double what it'd sell for to get the equivalent 3.0si, that's before looking at rarity of Individual models ect.

Mad world

If you can sit on your hands for a bit longer I think it will pay dividends, Sports car market is starting to soften and I think it will do more so in the short term.

Seem to be increasing numbers of 2 seaters returning to the market that were bought earlier this year. Summer is over, lockdown is more or less over and buying a car because it ‘seemed like a good idea at the time’ doesn’t now seem such a good idea to many… hang in there
