Looks like a nice car, well spec'd, but £20k is pretty steep imo.

Does anybody know anything about Zanetti Autos? Are they the new Hexagon ( ).

Somebody may be interested here, but the car is over-priced by a couple of grand (at least) imo.

Some dealers seem to have decided it is time for these (and ///MRs) to start to attract 'classic' status. I think the majority of the market disagrees though, for now...

Nice example however

It's frustrating isn't it.
One problem is that the overpriced ones don't shift, so there's a few just sat there being advertised and that gives new sellers an (incorrect) impression of what the price of theirs should be.
Another is that anything remotely desirable about an individual car, be it low miles, decent spec or FSH and the price shoots up 3 grand!

Fortunately we have Jedi-like patience, so are waiting for the right one to turn up.

<* edited to remove a comment about a different car, to avoid any possible misunderstanding about this car, I haven't seen this one.>

We're under no illusion we're going to steal one, most sellers are savvy enough to be able to do research, and the ones that aren't, chop them in to dealers wanting to earn a living (fair enough).

Hm, 26k miles and all the toys wrapped in a popular (very nice..!) colour combo on an 08 car.. i'd be asking for not much less than that if i were a dealer. They do sell for that money, regularly - so it's not *that* overpriced. I missed one similar spec'd imola with champers interior for 22k, i'd of paid 20 for it.

Lots of high milers selling for 14-16k but there's not many with sub 30k left (usually only one a month seems to pop up...). Hexagon would charge 24k for this :p

The Hexagon formula is something like:

  • Price H (£) = Value N + 5000GBP
:headbang:

If this was an AUC with an AUC warranty then I'd agree, but from an indie dealership I can't see this shifting for much more than £18k.

As for this, I think Woody, Phil and a few others would disagree.

Phil's Midnight Blue (only 17 in UK) hasn't sold in months and only has 60k on the clock.

That's a lot of mileage to some. I bought mine with 12k on the clock and a lot of people (including me) will pay a premium for a well kept garage queen. That M will be one of the last MC's built, low miles, good spec and low owners... If you're buying as a weekend toy with no plans to get rid quickly then a grand or two extra for a car you like won't matter in the long term.

Most M's I see advertised on here I wouldn't buy, 5 or 6 owners / hitting the problem zone miles wise etc...

20k is high but someone will probably pay it.

Most people won't give a monkeys, its a blue car. Only a distinct colour matters, Imola, Sepang, Phoenix etc :P

Shall we not just start an M Value/M for sale thread where we have at it in one thread - each of these threads goes the same way .

Tend to agree with the above - when I saw mine I just liked the colour combo , one owner one dealer servicing and relative low miles

This is the key reason which has stopped me buying an M

So my question is what mileage does it have to be to hit the "problem zone" on an M?

The M54 which is packed in the 3.0 is often touted and seen to do well over 150,000 with no issues. So why are we put off on a Z4M that has done a third of this?

Particularly considering what S54 M3s are considered good well past -its because they end up being upper quartile cars . average is somewhere closer to 40k on an z4M

Where we got to on the forum cars mileage....

Other than the engine (23k due to Mondail technician trying to clear a misfire by revving the nuts off it for 20 minutes) & diff (which I thought was fine, but the dealer said they'd like to replace it), I've only had a wiper relay, wheel bearing, 2 x PDC sensors in almost 90k miles.

Thats good to hear, more so as your the very low percentage of M drivers that use it daily and actually take it on the track

So what is wrong with the rest of you? paranoid? or just want to keep it in prestine condition?

Although in my eyes that is like dating a super model but using a blowup doll for your bedroom activities

If i could drive it every day for years i would :P I'm constantly looking for excuses to go out after work - though i'm yet to find a nice route out of SW London towards somewhere fun to drive...

Sadly my DD is either a train to Waterloo, the District line or primarily my bike:
