2008 Roadster power top will not open

Pressing and holding Open button = steady amber light. No clicks, thunks, etc. Windows do not open. Nothing. I believe the rear "tray" is down. Have not tried to manually open it.

Help appreciated.
 
Following up: after using the manual close procedure (cranking the whateveritis near the rear view mirror), it powers up as if it was closed and is locking. Windows drop half way as usual but the top still will not open.
 
If the light is amber, not red, it means the parcel shelf is in the up position, so no room for the roof to fit.
Turn the knobs to lower it.
If it is down then it’s the microswitch on the front wall of the boot (trunk).
If you opened it a little way then it would work to close as there is nothing impeding it in that direction.
 
Thanks Zed. It looked like the shelf wasn't fully down, so the switch wasn't closed. Works now. Thanks!
