2008 "M" Pricing On USA Web Site

Bloody hell $50,000 - that is so cheap. Do you have many taxes to add on to that?

Are the US versions full power?

Has anyone imported one?

Anyone notice that a black top is not available on the M Roady :scratchhead:
It is for the non-M though..... strange.

I have got to think that is a mistake... :o

Don't forget that they have never, and still don't, include the $1,000 gas guzzler tax on their web site when pricing out this car.

It is interesting to see a list of cars that meet the criteria to be "lucky" enough to qualify for this tax - (could only find 2006 data).

Except for a few Chrysler products (including the Viper) and some GM vehicles (including an armored DTS :o ) all the cars are foreign and we're really in select company! Of course my choice would have been to be omitted from this club considering the dues. :D

Anyone know the criteria for membership?
The Z4M & M3 are among the highest combined mpg in the group.

I think it is based on the weight of the car or maybe the fact that it is high horsepower and doesn't really need to be (in "their" opinion, that is  ) Anyone know for sure?

Here's a quick explanation I found:
The Gas Guzzler Tax is based on combined fuel economy, which is based on a 55%/45% highway/city fuel economy estimate from the Environmental Protection Agency test. Vehicles that get at least 22.5 mpg (combined) don't have to pay the Gas Guzzler Tax. The Tax rate goes from $1,000 for vehicles that get at least 21.5 mpg (combined), but less than 22.5 mpg (combined) all the way up to $7,700 for vehicles that get less than 12.5 mpg (combined).
