Well known Zed seen on many runs, based in Newcastle - active members of the forum. Interior in very good condition. Our Zed is not a garage queen, we are proud enthusiasts and our Zed still polishes up impressively with the Stratos Grey and Piano black interior making it look very up-market; mechanically maintained to the highest level being our main hobby and pastime.

In our ownership main points worth mentioning:

Dec 2014 Full new roof/hood fitted under warranty (due to heated rear window issue). Hydraulic motor in perfect condition so was not replaced at the same time (see photos). Front wishbone bushes replaced under warranty
Feb 2016 Roof motor relocated in boot (very neat installation and avoids water ingress issues)

I keep a log/record of our 3.0si ownership - our Zed is very well maintained (when our independent advises we have it done - e.g. propshaft removed and drive flange reset, rear silencer box mounting re-welded before the NC500 at start of this season).
There are items I would draw to your attention:

1. Rear brakes - our specialist said they were within limits and did not need replacement but agreed he'd take a look at the next service.
2. No dents or dings on any panels but on the NC500 our Zed got hit by stone chips - my fault for following so closely - but it was superb driving with some fabulous roads. So the front, top of wings and bonnet are peppered with white flecks.
3. Sadly, same outcome for the windscreen.
4. It sits on black Style 32 wheels in excellent condition (genuine BMW). Ave. 7kgs lighter per wheel than the OE wheels. 27.25kg less unsprung weight.

(Spare set of MV2s and strut brace can be part of a negotiated deal) n.b. STRUT BRACE NOW REMOVED

This remains a fabulous Zed and a brilliant drive - £6000 firm (our Zed is worth far more than that I just want it gone as it's always making me question keeping the M! GOT to make a decision  )

Obviously a hard decision Paul, but im sure you'll come go love the M , as much as the Si,
Took me a good 12 months to really appreciate and love the Z4 over my Z3, but 5 yrs later im still loving the 4, glwts bud.

Avin said that I've got a yearning for an Alpina

Well Paul ,so you finally made one of the most difficult decisions you've had to make for a long time!. I'm really pleased as I know it has taken some real mind searching.
Now I look forward to seeing your red rear end more often ( you know what I mean) so let's get back out on our great roads and see what it can do,I'm sure you've made the right decision my friend ,drive safe!!.
For those on the look out for a honest late E85 this is definitely worth a look .

Admired your motor Paul since I saw it on a Scottish hoon. I've been agonising as to whether to go for a 3.0 or not. Is it easy to swap over the seats and door cards?
Does the facelift 3.0 come in an SE version? I prefer the softer suspension for a daily driver. IIRC your grey is darker than mine?

Congrats on making your descision. Although I was following your decision thread I didn't post as I thought you would make your own mind up but pleased you have found the delights of the M.

Someone will get a very well looked after Si.

Quick answers Geezah - I went from the 2 litre to a 3 litre and you'll enjoy the difference in engine - it's terrific (I speak as an ex biker like you). The seats and door cards look easy to change ( I was going to do it on a previous ///M I looked at (though follow advice re the passenger occupancy sensor - do a search on the forum) that'll be because of your two tone seats?). Yes the 3 litre facelift does come in an SE version which is softer and preferred by some (like yourself). I think Marlon has the SE version though I think he's also done quite a bit to change seats, steering wheel to bring to Sports interior (perhaps send him a pm). My 3.0si is a darker grey, quite rare, Stratos Grey - it has undercurrents of colour that come out when it's sunny. Took me time to get to like it - on the right day I think it makes my Zed look very up market.

As Paul said Stratos Grey changes in the sun going from a standard normal grey to a beautiful bluey grey in the sun,it looks stunning in bright sunlight. Have not used mine for a few weeks,I had to go into Brum town centre this morning early, so l got the Z out, and once it was warmed up it reminded me why I brought it. The sound of that straight Six on the way to 6k rpm and the burble on the way down is fantastic.

Good news you've conquered your M demons Paul... I must admit I thought out of the two the M would be on here now but I'm glad I was wrong.

GLWTS.

Thanks for all the positive comments folks - I've amended the advert after a few points were raised by mr wilks (many thanks for your honest appraisal) and will sort out some more photos including the interior (though we are about to head off again on another Z4 run to the lakes).

The ///M isn't up for sale as I'm getting used to it and finding it is indeed, a very special Zed. :driving:
Though truth be told, even now, I'd be more than content with my 3.0si - it is such a wonderful Zed to own and drive. :D

I've just drastically cut the price of our Zed as I want it gone - it's spoiling my enjoyment of the M as I keep questioning keeping it.

Someone will get a fabulous driving Zed with known history - no negotiation on price at 6K - if it doesn't interest anyone on the forum we'll consider storing it at Steph's family farm and using it in Cambridge. It's worth far more than 6K to us

This should go fast at that price, there can't be another 3.0si with the proven history of Paul's - clock's ticking on this sale. . .
