2007 Seatbelt warning and alarm problem. Any advise

Had this pop up a few days ago. Took a friend for a ride and they forgot to fasten their seatbelt so of course the warning began to chime and I ask them to hook their seatbelt. Still it took about 3 -4 miles before the light went off and the alarm stopped, but it did so I pretty much forgot about it.

Then last night I put a few groceries in the passenger seat and it was enough to trigger the alarm again. Except this time it never shut down after I hooked the seatbelt. Now the light is on and the alarm is intermittently sounding with nothing in the seat with or without the seatbelt fastened.

I've check the code reader for errors in the seat occupancy sensor and everything checks fine no problems. Does anyone have any ideas? Everything I have found to read up on this mentions the airbag warning, but I'm not getting that light.

Could fit a resistor to the cable running out of the seatbelt buckle under the seat, this would disable it permanently ? Its what most people do when they fix the airbag light and they get the seatbelt alarm ?

Could a faulty or loose connection on the buckle cause the light to come on?

Or / and do you know the resister ohms needed?

The buckle not shutting off the alarm makes me think there's a problem with it, but I don't understand why its on anyway if nothings in the seat unless I have a 2 fold problem.

Just code the car with SSS v32 and switch of seatbelt reminder, it's in retrofit section.

Usually if its a loose connection the airbag light would come on showing a fault. When i disconnected my cables from the buckle the airbag light came on. I use a 274ohms resistor.

Its easy to tell if the cables are loose. Just pull down on rubber casing around the buckle and at the fron are two wires. Give a slight tug on them see if the wiggle around alot. Unfortunately its very hard to get inside the actual buckle so i would try attaching the resistor to the wires first

Thanks very much Ryan, I'll check that.

Yeah Mac I was reading about SSSv32 I want to get that, do you know if the software would work with the Bavarian Tech cable?
