2007 N52 3.0SI OVERHEATING AND HEATER ISSUES

Afternoon all,

I have an issue with my Z4 regarding overheating.

Start car from cold, engine warms up as it should. Heat comes through vents all ok. After approx 10 miles, temp gauge will creep towards the red zone, then back to three quarters, the straight into the red and the beep starts sounding.
Car is showing signs of overheating, steam from cap and bubbling heard inside expansion tank. If I leave the car for 5 minute with the engine off, the temp gauge returns to normal and it starts behaving itself again for another 10 miles or so.
If I dont run the interior heater fan (effectively turning off all interior heat) the car will behave correctly and shows no sign of overheating.
To my knowledge I would say it has air somewhere in the system. I have bled it numerous times using the ignition on, engine off function. I've had it jacked up high at the front and on steep hills.
If you pressure test the cooling system it shows no leaks. I've also block tested it to rule out head gasket issues and it passed all ok.
So far in the last 12mths it has had the following replaced:
Waterpump
Thermostat
Expansion tank x2
Expansion tank cap

Any help or direction on where I start looking next is greatly appreciated.
