2007 E85 tire pressure monitor light on

I have re-set it several times, and it keeps coming back on. Does the 2007 use wheel speed sensing or direct sensors in each wheel with a battery?

As far as I know, on mine ('06 3.0Si) it's the ABS system which measures / monitors the difference from when it was initialized after a reset. I could be wrong though.

Yup, regardless of the pressures, when you do the reset procedure it then checks the revolutions of each wheel over the next mile or so and takes that as its datum.
[ref]bcolins[/ref], you don't say whether the light is yellow or red? Red indicates a loss of pressure and yellow normally pops up if there is a fault in the sensing system.

I've never had an issue with it on any of my Z4s, but in the 6 years I've had my E90 that uses the same system with the wheel speed sensors I've had an amber TPMS light appear a few times.

Each time I have checked the pressures and reset it. Once it came back on immediately, other times it has stayed off for a few years so I've just lived with it. I think one time a dying battery may have been a factor but have no idea why it happened other times. :?

I was thinking reluctor rings too,they might need a good clean.
