2007 E85 - Pro-Active fixes

Hi guys

Been two weeks since I bought a used E85 Roadster 2.0l and this forum has been a great source of knowledge.

My car has done 50K and has a FSH history. Although not always by BMW Dealers.
Inspection I and Inspection II has been done x2 times in the car's life but not sure if either of these included a spark plugs change.

So following items:

1) CVV - should I get this done and a rough cost on how much would it cost to pay a good mechanic to do this?

2) Disa Valve - same question

3) Sparks and Ignition coils - same question

4) Valve cover gasket - same question

5) Roof motor move to trunk - seems like a must do, how much would a mechanic charge?

Feel free to add any other recommended "do it before it goes FUBAR" works/fixes.

Thanks
Bobby

Here is what I would do
1) CVV - should I get this done and a rough cost on how much would it cost to pay a good mechanic to do this?
Make sure the hoses are clear and clean, at your mileage they shouild be reasonably clean.

2) Disa Valve - same question
If you pull it out to check its condition you may well need a new O ring to put on when you replace it, just check the condition of the spinde pin for security.

3) Sparks and Ignition coils - same question
No harm in putting a set of plugs in, at least you know what you have in it then, keep the old ones, cleaned and gapped as spares.

4) Valve cover gasket - same question
If you have no oil leaks, leave it alone until you see any sign of an oil leak, over time they do go hard and the centre plug well gaskets are usually a sign of them needing replacement when oil leaks into the plug wells. The main cover gasket when it leaks usually lets oil drip onto the exhaust causing smoke in the engine bay. At your mileage I would think you still have life left in them.

5) Roof motor move to trunk - seems like a must do, how much would a mechanic charge?
Best thing you can do to avoid any future problem happening, if you can't do it yourself, guys on here can do it at reasonable cost, nearest woud be the Bristol area, no doubt he will post on this thread when he sees your question
