I'm selling my Coupe which I have grown to love, but it's time to say goodbye.
I'll start with the bad bit. In November 2021 a deer jumped out in front of me and I hit it at approximately 40mph. Unfortunately it did enough damage to the front of the car for the insurance to write it off as a category S. The deer was killed, and it was altogether a very unpleasant experience. I wasn't ready to part with the car, and felt the right decision would be to buy the car back and put it back on the road. I had driven it home after the incident, so I knew that there was only cosmetic damage.
The bonnet and front bumper were replaced which I sourced from eBay. The most expensive part by far was the passenger side Xenon headlight which cost £1000 from BMW. Getting it back on the road built a really strong bond for me with the car, but it's time to let it go. On the next MOT after the accident it failed just on the headlight adjustment, which was unsurprising since I had to replace one of them. This is the only time this car has ever failed an MOT. The following MOT (February just gone) it went through but it does have a couple of advisories which I just haven't got round to sorting out. It still feels like a 10 grand car to me, bit I appreciate that being a cat S will put some people off. I have taken all this into consideration when pricing the car.
