Pictures in advert, car looks immaculate. The owner has emailed me further pictures, it confirms the car looks great.
31,000 miles and full main dealer service history.

But 3 previous owners, is slightly putting me off the 150mile round trip to view.

Would the previous owners total put you off?

not at all. this kind of car often changes hands, especially roadsters as people buy them for summer then sell on.

probably worth a look. pics?

It might have been a demo, or press car, so the owners were changed quickly. Doesn't mean there's anything inherently dodgy about it.

Nope and I have never understood why it worries people / is relevant. t's argued it suggests the car has long term faults and keeps being passed on, but I don't agree personally. It could have had one arse hole from new who has warn through tyres every 2k for the whole of it's life, and been to the dealer weekly for faults....or it could have passed through the hands of 15 fastidious collectors and been babied throughout. IMO the number of owners tells us literally nothing. As an example, a good proportion of M3 CSLs tend to have 5-6 + owners (speculators)...

Judge it on it's own merits IMO.

My car had 3 previous owners when i bought it at 39k. And I've not regretted it for a moment.

It's the type of car that some people find they can't practically live with for too long. The 2 guys before me had to sell it, because they both got their women pregnant.

Mine looked immaculate in pics and write-up - I traveled over 400 miles (Manchester to Glasgow) to see it. then again to pick it up.

i would suggest discussing what kind of deal you can do on it first, just so you know there's a deal to be had. Providing you are going to try and knock them down on the asking price.

if it looks and sounds good and you trust the seller - go for it.

Mine had 3 previous before I got it,BMW GB for 6 months, 1 owner for 20 months, the next for 30 months ( only sold it as he needed a MPV as he had become the carer for his dad and needed to carry a wheelchair ( and the old fella).I've had it for 2 years now and it's only done 45k and will be 7 years old in Sept.Didn't bother me.Most highly strung sports cars have multiple owners ( 911's especially) as they are as much a fashion item as a means of transport. I think the M versions more so than the cooking ones. I wouldn't worry about it , in fact expect it.

Very true .. most CSL's have Atleast 5-6 owners.. some are near 10 ! regardless of the milage..

And look at them? 99% of csl are owned by enthusiast and are cared for very well ..(if used hard someimtes) but maintained regardless.

All about the conditon... And history ...(maintaince wise)

Mine had 3 owners with 11800 on the clock and 33 months old
First original purchaser ,second a buyer who returned it within the 14? day exchange bit of AUC ( found it too much of a beast ?)
third lady who then traded it with their X5 for a X6 and finally me .
Not ever used as a 1st car and all through the same Dealer and local buyers
I wouldn't worry as others have said Z4 is not like a bread and butter vehicle and many buy as a toy ( like me ) :driving:

I'm the 4th owner of mine. :) I agree, as long as the car is very nice and straight and has all the paperwork I wouldn't worry.

I'm the third owner on mine, (22k miles) and in theory it might have 33k miles on when I sell. However....

.... I contacted the previous owner. It was registered to his company first, then he retired and bought the car in the process, and then I bought it through AUC. So two previous owners on the V5, but only one keeper. Happy days :D

Car are bought and sold in greater number in the last 20 yrs with the advent of easier credit.
