2006 Z4 Bluetooth and Phone Adaptor

I am the new owner of this car and new to this forum.
I am having difficulty getting a "consistent" answer when I did a search.
I have the business CD and Carver stereo upgrade. It does not have the CD changer unit, but is prewired for a CD changer. It also has the telephone prewire kit and the microphone cover on the top of the steering wheel column by the dash.
It is my understanding that my system includes the amplfier and that I need to get a bluetooth adaptor that uses the coaxial cable. However, there has also been information that an additional adapter is also needed to connect to the Bluetooth unit.
Also, is the adaptor(s) installed behind the head unit in dash or the rear console/trunk where the CD prewiring is at or both?
Can someone help me this and what adaptor(s) I would need?
Thanks for your help in advance.

You have a choice of 2 adaptors. You can get 1 that sits behind your stereo or uses the CD changer connection. You don’t need both.

For simplicity I’d grab one that comes with its own microphone and ignore the car’s own phone prep. Otherwise you’ll be dealing with 2 Bluetooth connections on your phone.

If you go for the in-boot module, you will likely need a 3.5MM extension lead too as I think the mic is only 2M long.
