Hi Guys,

I am planning to get a Zed, therefore i am fairly new to this forum. I have been looking around for a good Zed, I have come across one but it doesn't have a cruise control. It is a 3.0Si model (56 plate). I was wondering if this model has all the wiring loom etc for me to retrofit a cruise control?

I have looked around the forum but there seems to be a lot going on regarding retrofitting. I just need a simple answer as to weather it is possible or not, if it is, which guide should i follow?

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone!

How much is this likely to cost me?

Also, do you think i would be better off waiting for new year or before, in terms of number of cars up for sale? Im really confused :(

First rule of Z ownership.....the guys on here have forgotten more about Z's than most dealers will ever learn.

The dealers talking bollocks as usual. He's including the cowl but you can use the original one and with a little judicious work with a dremel will end up with the same result.

I'd ask him how much they charge just for coding because it's not required. Sorry, that's for an earlier car so I guess it's possible but not from what I've read.

As others have said, you need the CC stalk, an extra length of cable and away you go. Very easy DIY and full instructions on here. Search Cruise Control and you're there.

Where are you ?

I'd try a few indy's and get prices from them

Most of the time my main dealer will match what price I've been quoted elsewhere.

I dremelled my cowl, bought the parts from Sopers (£50 rings a bell) and then my Indy in Stockport fitted them for £20

No coding required

As above, dealer is talking bollocks.

Stalk about £70, wiring loom under £20. Cut the cowl using guide on the inside.

DIY job and no coding required.

Get the stalk and loom from Sopers, ask for Jamie, he gives Z4 Forum discount too.

Follow the thread someone linked above, it's the one I used to fit my CC. It's really simple.
Here it is again: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=19242&hilit=cruise+control+parts

Make sure you crimp the wires properly. Any dramas, feel free to PM me, would be happy to answer any questions.

I love this forum! There is so much info. I have called Jamie at Sopers, he seems to be on a holiday (I guess a deserved one too since he has helped some of us here - hopefully me too :o ) ... They said he will be back tomorrow, so i will try again.

I am from Leamington Spa but when I asked for the parts, I was in London (Stephen James - Enfield).

Will let you guys know if I can't get hold of this kit...

I wish I had found this place before I had spent £500.00 getting the stealer to fit it on my first zed in 2007 :headbang:
