2006 Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)

Does the 2006 use the ABS for tpms or when changing rims does it require the addition of the parts inside the rim?
 
Dunno, IMZ4N. I *think* a 2006 still used the ABS. I know my 07 uses the in-tire monitors.

The TPM's which has a component inside the rims started with the 2007 models. 2006 models were just like they were on the 2003.
 
Thank you all so much. If you did not know my 04 3.0 with 152K is now in the junk yard. I hit some debris on the freeway at 65 mph and did enough structal damage to the drivers front and mid body under the car the insurance totaled it even though all fenders, doors and other panels were fine. We did not get hurt , other than to see our baby gettaken away. We are looking at this like a chance to upgrade by a few years and 120k less miles. Trying to get up to speed on a 06 before I pull the trigger.
 
I'm so glad the two of you weren't injured. Sorry your baby got totaled, but she sure showed how well these things are put together!
