2006 or 2007 SI

Hey guys, gals and in between. I am contemplating purchasing either a 2006si or 2007si. Are there any pros or cons with either of the two?
They price difference is only about 600$ Can. and the mileage is 15K more on the 2006, but I gather from other posts that I shouldn't get too excited about the mileage. Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Hi Bob, You're right about mileage if the difference is not too big - as has been said, buy on condition. A test drive should give you a feel for each.

If it's the same/model and colour then I would be checking servicing and other maintenance work - tyres, brakes, extra oil changes, brake fluid changes, then checking the condition of paintwork and interior - all the things you would check on any vehicle. Which one has been more cherished and cared for - irrespective of year. Which one is due a big service or costs on brakes tyres etc - these are effective sports cars and need to be in top condition though there are long service intervals. Are there are any preferred spec that might make a difference to you?

Then it's your choice - obviously the 2007 should have a price differential on the 2006 but you asked about any model changes between the years - I don't know of any except I think the later 2007 had an aux plug point to the left and beneath the steering wheel on the dash which curves away from you (so you wont see it unless you particularly look). My 2008 si has this aux plug (allows use of Ipod etc).

Let us know how you get on.

I was really looking for an 07/08 even 09 if I could find it si and had budgeted more for a newer one but went to look at an 06, it had all the toys top spec and had been so well looked after I put a deposit down same day.

Would definitely have preferred a newer one but a decent si is not a common car so finding one in great condition isn't necessarily easy especially if you want higher spec or a specific interior so in the end was happy to compromise on age

Thanks folks for your replies. I'll be looking closely at both and making a decision. Hopefully the next post will be with my new possesion.
Thanks again for your insights.
