2006 3.0si MPG

So with all these questions of what MPG does all out cars do I set myself the task of trying to get a reasonable figure out my 3.0si. So last week I filled up with the normal optimax and reset all the dials. 250 miles later and I got 37MPG! From a 3 litre straight six! And I can honestly say I wasn't driving like a grandma - just employing some tactics like not booting it just to get up to speed and coasting in gear rather than braking. Well chuffed.

Yea its good aint it. As you say its easily achievable if you think about your driving style. Even with a blast now and then!

I think we should have a competition to see who can get the lowest MPG whilst out hooning. 35+mpg must be one hell of a boring drive

I got an average of 6 one time hooning it out of a petrol station and down a motorway for a grand distance of 1 mile lol it really is hard to keep it below 10!

In my 3.0si i reset the 2nd OBC MPG the day i got her with 25k on (ish)
Today she is on 85k and then 2nd OBC reads 30.1 - so that value must speak volumes. I do a healthy misture of stop start city driving and then long motorway journeys...

My MPG started out very good... then as each day passed has crept down& down... & the grin factor up n up

When I used as a daily driver I was getting 30-35 depending on driving. Now the zed has been promoted to weekend only, it sees less than 30mpg. OBC reads 29.4 average (calculated this is around 26/27mpg  ). The sound generator doesn't help

Has any body calculated SMILES PER GALLON, I get alot more than 37.1

I only get one smile per gallon :?

It's pretty much continuous though

In the brief 3 weeks I had the coupe best I got was 22 mpg and that was the OBC reading.
Mind you that was town driving ...

I usually average 24.3 around town (OBC) in my auto coupe

I've had the 3.0si Coupe for a month now....and I am averaging (done on a calculator not the OBC) a massive 25.3mpg...OBC is claiming 26.6, so not as far out as some cars I know!

Daily drive is about 7 miles into work from cold - bit of motorway but generally tends to be busy and some stop start - not ideal, although I think I could help matters a little *ahem*

Doing 600+ miles of long distance stuff this weekend though, so I'll calculate what I get from those tanks. If it's 30 or above I'll be chuffed.

I qualify as chuffed.

35.9 mpg on the run back when traffic was lighter (34.6 on way up). That's done again via a calculator. Run was c.0.8 leptons on the cruise, so not hanging about. And I made sure all possible moment to enjoy the redline were enjoyed on sliproads etc :)

In about 3000 miles , mines 31.2 mpg's not much town driving if am honest , fair bit of hooning but I do also sit at 70 mph on the motorway thats it .... makes me dull but get me no points!!! :P

I only average 26-27 in my '03 2.5i.

I guess that's mostly down to my commute to work only being 5~ miles there and 5 miles back or so(although all motorway), but all the same, thats bloody good going to get 37 :p

Best I've had out of my Alpina 3.4l is 36mpg on a long motorway run with the cruise control set at 70mph and being very gentle.

Most of the time I get about 30mpg.
