I'm a relatively new forum member. I joined the Z4-forum thinking I was buying an E89 from a friend-of-a-friend. Didn't happen - but I now am the new owner of a 2006 Z4 Coupe 3.0Si, 6-spd MT. It's got 80K miles, and seems generally well-cared-for. I am still smiling !!
Prior to my purchase, the Roundel (badge) for the hatch was damaged. The chrome edging around the badge is chipped out, and it looks rather unsightly. I have to figure out: 1) if the chrome edging is part of the badge or the handle for opening the hatch, 2) if the badge is the same as the pair on either side of the front fenders, and 3) how much pain it will be to replace the necessary piece.
I will go out tomorrow to re-assess and determine the exact diameter of the badge and whether it seems to be badge or handle.
If anyone has experience with this, and which parts are needed, please let me know. RealOEM.com does not seem to show the badge for the back of the hatch.
