2006 2.0 M?

Hi all - anyone help me out? Just bought a 2006 2.0 Sport (will post pictures on delivery). It is festooned with M badges rear, sides and on the steering wheel. I loved the looks of the Z4 - bit of a considered buy to replace an MX5. Great to see 4 pots represented on this forum - thought I might be ignored. The question is - was there ever an M version of the 2 litre or have I inherited a badged up sport? How sad's that - nevermind it looks the dogs danglies. Looking forward to using the Forum. Paul

:worthless:

There was a 'Sport' trim level, which comprised of M sport suspension amongst other things, and the steering wheel may have had an ///M logo on it. But no 2.0i M model. Easy to remove the ///M badges if you dont like them, but its your car. If you like 'em, keep them. :)

Welcome to the forum

Thanks folks - haven't checked through all the paperwork yet. I do like the badges - discussion point at least. What about the 18 inch rims - the side walls look very small. On the two test rides I took the ride felt ok but what comments on tyres and what about dealing with punctures?

Hi and welcome :)

M badge on the steering wheel is part of the sport trim, M badge on the exterior (on a non M car) is a different matter

Should have run flat tyres as standard. Punctures not common as far as I know. Swapping the run flats for 'normal' tyres will give better ride quality and less tramlining

That's just the kind of information I was hoping for from the Forum - thanks 'Adamski'. Any suggestions on tyres?

My 2.0l sport also has the 'M' badges so no worries there.
One thing I would suggest is to make sure the tyre pressures are right before you do anything; on my car all the runflat tyres were under 20psi when I got home from buying her. After pumping them up to the correct pressures the ride was transformed (surprisingly  ).

This is great - thanks everyone.
I'll read through the string about tyres before making a decision.
Relieved someone else has the M badges on their 2.0l Z4 - I like them and I'd rather leave them. Georgio what tyre pressures are you using then? (Agree about the tyre pressures needing checking - an MX5 I collected after purchase had 10 psi more each corner when I took it for it's first run - one tight corner later concerned that it seemed a bit twitchy I checked and 37 instead of 27 in each tyre! Keep it coming - and thanks again) Paul
