My 2.0 n46 E85 is showing high oil temp but no overheating, rad sensor read ok, replaced engine temp sensor just in case. Fan not coming on Fault code 2EFE cannot make fan turn on remotely using diagnostic tool
Air con not working, pressure in system too high on max danger, has not been topped up either
Any suggestions as to cause?
Runs fine, no indication of any problems, engine temp around 90 degrees C rad around 50 when running, 80+ when stationery no fan.
No loss of coolant
Suggestions welcome

Sounds like like your cooling fan is knacked to me. I'm not sure whether the E85 has one or two fans, if it's one then it should come on with the a/c. If your a/c pressure is high, that would indicate a lack of cooling ie fan. Let it all cool down, the a/c HP switch should then make which should bring the a/c on, so see if the fan runs.
Can you spin the fan by hand (obviously only do this when everything is cool and the ignition is off, as fans have a permanent live and can run with the ignition off)?

Probably right, so replaced the fan and it still will not come on.
Changed relay too, no joy.
Did more road testing, found thermostat was sticking, usually in open position.
Am changing thermostat and going to test again.
Looks like multiple faults. Process of elimination.

Turns out there was a broken wire, the sensor wire to the fan plug, just 10mm from the plug and unnoticeable to the naked eye. Happy days, all the other issues with engine oil temp etc disappeared as soon as the wire was repaired. Fan works as well as the air con.

Now to sort out the 2A61 VVT error code that will not go away. Any suggestions?
