2005 z4 roof

Hi, good to be here, can anyone help with a roof question, I have the automatic roof which is currently working fine but I looked into the manual operation whereby you pull and twist the red hook in the boot so that the roof can be raised or lowered in emergency, the problem is I don’t have this red hook? Are there different methods for different models? Mines the 2.5i automatic. Thanks Daren.

They're all the same. I suspect you have the cable end but the red hoop is missing.

It’s top left corner of the boot, up under the lip

Hi, had a really good route around in the boot and there is definitely not a small tube with an internal wire and red pull handle, the only cables in the upper boot space are x2 that run the entire length of the upper boot lip and are securely fastened to the car?

The cable end and hoop are where shown. You can actually see the red hoop in this picture.

Hi, but mine isn’t there, I’m thinking aubergine the roof motor has been moved to prevent water ingress and so the cable removed?

That should say maybe not aubergine!!
