Background to the car,and me I have owned the car for approximately 6 years and have been on the forum for about the same time.
You can read back through my posts to see some of the work done to the car, problems, who,s done the work etc.
The only reason for the sale is that I have been left another 3.0ltr roadster in a good friends will who sadly passed away from cancer last month, which means I now have two e85 roadsters which is not really practical so one has to go.
so the car.
2005 e85 3.0 in maldives blue
144k miles mainly commuting motorway as this was my daily driver.this may rise very slightly as i am running it so it gets used and is not sat on the drive, although not as often.
Mot expiry 09.07.19 but can have a new full mot for anyones peace of mind if required.
Service history,
bmw castle york 17,853
bmw Blue Bell Crewe 35,702 i
bmw Halliwell Jones 57,678
bmw Halliwell Jones 71885
Bms Autocare 87,771
Barnsley Auto centre 97,251
oil and filters changed personally using castrol edge 105,00
oil plugs ngk iridium pollen air and oil filters done personally 120,00
Barnsley Autocentre 136,630
All this is documented in the service booklet.
The extras, heated seats, wind deflector with boot lid storage brackets.
Roof motor relocated to boot.
18 inch Elipsoids wheels with locking nuts.
The car is standard and not modified.
I will be as totally honest with the issues this car has albeit none major.
The roof works fine and is strong up and down although once lowered it does not shut totally and stops an inch from locking and needs a slight push to click shut.
There is some bubbling starting to show on front drivers wheel arch.
Some laquer peel on front bumper and also a fair bit of stone chipping due to motorway miles.
There is some small scuffs and scratches around the car as to be expected at 144k and 14 years old.
The wheels could do with a refurb but are not bad.
Overall this car is a great runner and has had some of the common faults sorted eg new rear springs, exhaust bolts replaced, roof motor in boot.rear brake lines replaced.windscreen motor removed to solve wiper reset problem.
It fairly recently had front wishbones with arms bushes and links replaced.
New starter motor and battery.
The gear box oil has also been replaced in my ownership.
There is many other things this car has had done as it has always been well cared so the things I have mentioned are not a comprehensive list.
The private reg has now been removed and current reg is RK05 TZM.
I will welcome any queries and questions about the car for anyone needing more info.
Anyone interested either email or message me and I will be more than happy to give you my phone number for a more comprehensive discussion ,this would be easier for me as I dont have the time to frequent the forum as much as I would like with work and personal commitments at the moment.
The price is £2500 ovno Has to go now £2000
After 24,05 19, I will be abroad for 2 weeks so apologies if there is a late response.
Sorry for posting the first pic many times but there is others further down the page

Lovely looking example, maybe post pictures of interior / centre console also might help.
Thanks, will try and get some more pics done, perfect timing smashed my phone at work last night :headbang:
The interior is in great condition apart from some wear on the steering wheel painted centre parts, not sure what these are called but its the pieces that can be removed and repainted or wrapped.

Maldives blue, drop dead gorgeous in the sun all polished up.

Every success with the sale!

Thanks Jembo, The car would be going nowhere but unfortunately I have the problem of having two on the drive :D
Yes I have had worse problems

Shame to see you selling up- especially with the loss of your friend, great z for someone! GLWTS.

Thanks again guys,
I am selling this one but going anywhere as I will be keeping the one my pal left me,I just feel it's the right thing to do.
So I will still be on the forum and a z4 owner. :driving:

😢 Must have been a special friend to leave you his car.
Yes he was a very special friend.
After seeing his Z a good few years ago and commenting on its great lines He says "take her for a spin" ,
so I did and thats how I ended with mine .
When I visited him towards the end of his illness and he told me he would be leaving me his car, I said "i will take very good care of it"
his reply was "I know, thats the only reason your fu**ing getting it"
He also had a great sense of humour.

Every time you drive his car, I bet it will bring back good memories.

I'm looking for my first real car at the minute, would like it to be a Zed and love the look of this one. I know you are on holiday at the minute but if you could PM me your location when you're back I would love to take a look at it. Thanks, Stew.

Maldives blue has a gorgeous fleck paint in the sunshine... suggest u take a mate & £ notes in your pocket. The first guy who turned up to view my old 3.0 was smitten, saying looked far better in the flesh than the pics.

You’ll be gutted if u have to leave her behind, as there aren’t too many in this colour.

The colour is gorgeous. I've seen OP is in Barnsley which is a doable trip up for a car like that. I'd be travelling with my Dad or Brother because if it looks half as good as it does in the pictures I think I would be sold.
