Hi all , new member ,,here ..good to meet u all.
I bought a 2005 (February) z4 (2.2, 65k miles) a couple of weeks ago and mostly all good but there could be a issue with the steering.
No error lights but when driving on bumpy roads that have had road works the car seems to "Tram lining " if that's the phrase.
It can be unnerving as I have to quite forcefully control the car. ok on smooth roads etc
It had a new MOT when I got it and some suspension bushes had been replaced.
If the bushes /suspension is ok, could it be the EPS or just that the steering column needs overhauling ,lubricating?
Can a later version column / EPS ,be fitted ?
Any info for the newbie ,,gratefully appreciated.

Hi,, no ,I should have said ,, fair condition as well.. Also my z4 does not have the "sport " mode.

You could try the concentric ring on the electric motor. I did mine and it helped smooth the steering. I fitted 18" wheels, I found that also helped.
When I first drove my car, I thought it was trying to kill me, since doing the wheels and the ring, it's a dream to drive now.
