I am the proud owner of the cheapest Z4 in Canada that is still drivable. 
My beautiful s**t box has 180,000 km on it.
The bad:
The headlights are full of water.
The hood has been resprayed with home depot silver spray-paint with a sprinkling of dirt and lint. Whomever did the paint job did not put on any tape or paper so there is overspray on the side fenders the headlights and windshield.
The windshield wipers are so mangled they wipe the car next to me at a stoplight.
The stereo only works out of the right-hand side of the car.
Trunk struts are shot.
paint damage to the rear passenger side fender.
The rear tires came with a screw in each.
And the pièce de résistance the rear diff is completely shredded.
The good:
I have wanted a manual Z4 for years and I finally got one at half the price of the next most affordable car.
I changed the oil and the motor purrs like a kitten. It does not leak or burn oil.
The clutch seems high but good, and the trans is pretty smooth.
I sourced a used diff with 57000 km on it at a wrecker and it is going in this week. ($1000 total for parts and labor)
If anybody reading this has any advice regarding additional work that should be done while the diff is out, let me know.
I snagged a rear transverse bushing for the diff and will replace that at the same time. I thought about doing the drive shaft bearing and the axle bushing at the same time. Anyway, I am hoping to get the car drivable in time for summer, wish me luck.
