2004 model with Xenon ?

Any of you out there with a 2004 Z4 with Xenon ? I would like to see a picture of the inside of the headlamp please when you pull the cover off ?

I have a very strange setup on my car where the Xenon system seems to have been retrofitted, BUT with a very strange and rare H1 HID bulb!!

The driver side went out intermittently and I ordered a D2S to replace but found another type of bulb inside. It appears to be working again.... not sure if it will last.... ALSO there is no igniter/ballast as you would expect behind the bulb, it looks like it is located elsewhere..
 
Have you got the manual leveller inside on the dashboard by the lightswitch - that'll tell you if they are aftermarket too.
 
got leveller inside all working, headlamp wahser all working, self-level test on startup all working. There is nothing so far that suggests it is aftermarket!!! all a bit strange...

That i have confimed as the Dealer said out of factory it did not have Xenons. BUT BMW has a Xenon retrofit KIT for the Z4 which included all bits with the headlamps etc.... just a bit puzzled about the bulb being used..

This is from a 2005 05 Xenon.... OEM except for the extra bullet/socket connectors.

If your light switch looks like this one then you have factory fit Xenons.

But if your light switch looks like this one then the car would have had the standard Halogen lights so therefore you will have an aftermarket HID kit installed
