2004 E85 Z4 3.0i Car Mats

I’ve been looking for a decent set of mats and have found these genuine BMW ones on eBay:

I’ve heard it’s worth spending the extra money on genuine BMW mats rather than aftermarket ones, especially for fit and quality.

The part number is 51477030765. RealOEM lists them as Anthrazit, but my car has a black interior. Can anyone confirm these are the correct mats for a black-interior E85 and whether Anthrazit is effectively the standard dark/black carpet colour BMW used?

Also, my car has the rectangular carpet retention strips rather than the round twist-lock fixings. If those carpet-side strips are damaged or missing, can they be bought separately, and does anyone know the part number?

Thanks Jason

I bought a pair a few years ago on Ebay that were supplied by BMW Park Lane and they show on realoem as Anthazit but they're definitely black!

Although the Part Number ended with 766 - maybe because my car is a facelift?

I don't know about the retention strips though.

Thanks, that’s really helpful.

Sounds like I’ve been overthinking the Anthrazit bit then! 😄

If I can’t source the original retention strips, I might just grab some 3cm industrial Velcro and see how I get on.

Cheers for confirming the mats are effectively black in the flesh

I think it's just another example of BMW using an alternative name! The sales brochure for E86s said the Sport models & Ms have an anthracite headlining, but in reality all three of mine looked black to me.

Anthrazit translates to coal (anthracite) so black it is. I bought non OEM carpets once and regretted it. I think now 'how often are you going to change them?'. Dealer will know about the strips. I recently had surprising success with self adhesive velcro for a mat onto a carpet so it should work.
