2004 E85 top flashing red

Quick background... replaced my canvas top. At some point in the process I got a flashing red indicator.

Scanned and got two codes
22 CVM Switch, cowl panel unlocked short circuit to ground
42 CVM Drive, cowl panel short circuit to positive

Pulled top out. Stripped all wiring tape and braided sleeves and can't find any broken wires. Is there any way to check anything else before I go through reinstall? I see all 4 hallsensors and are in place. Anyway to test them?
Working by myself so pulling and installing top is an adventure.

Those codes are referring to the wiring for the center locking motor near the windshield. The wires run from the motor to the convertible top control module. I would use an ohm meter to test each wire before I put it back together.

Is there a convient way to check the hall sensors?
I spent couple hours today tracing /checking wires but can't find anything.

My next step, when I get time, will be pulling canvas and checking hall sensors at locking mechanism. Live data on foxwell scanner won't show closed... shows open.
So is that the sensor? Or wiring ? I just can't seem to find a broken wire.

Think you need to test it using a volt meter connected to it and moving a metal object near it to see if it shows up on the meter.
Found an old thread on here which may assist https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81522
