Hi, I'm a new Member and have joined basically for help. My hood has suddenly decided not to go down when I press the button? It was working fine about a week ago. has not been in the rain and I had a new hydraulic system fitted approx 2yrs ago. Can anyone help please. Typical to decide not to work with the Summer coming soon.

the lights don't come on the button, the latch doesn't move, haven't tried parcel shelf in up position?There’s a chance this could be a micro switch issue. If you stand behind the car, boot open and parcel shelf up, bend down and look to the centre of the furthest point of the boot. Sort of behind where you sit. In the middle is a plastic recess, at the bottom left edge there’s a small metal clip, this is the micro switch. Get someone to press it while you try the roof button.

If nothing at all happens it is most usually the microswitch in the boot that is operated by the shelf.
If you look under the front edge of the shelf when it is raised you should see a groove down the front face of the boot wall. When the tray is up there should be a small curved metal strip near the bottom of that groove. If you can see that try moving it by hand, pushing it in. You should hear a click.
If that is not working then you'll get just the light on the button and nothing else.
If it were a hydraulic leak you'd hear the motor running.
If the boot motor had failed you'd usually still get front to unlock.
Just a thought, has the battery been disconnected recently?

This can cause the windows to lose their settings and then the roof doesn't know where they are and won't do anything.
Simple check. Open each door and the window should drop about 5-10mm. Try that and if not, come back to us.
