2004 BMW Z4 2.2 straight 6 with only 17k miles from new. Full service history including recent new brake fluid and coolant. Unmarked 19 inch alloys with F1 tyres as well as the original 16 inch wheels with brand new Avons (these alloys are almost immaculate as well)

Has heated black leather seats, cruise control, brand new over mats. For sale as I just do not drive it. Looking on Autotrader, an early car with this low miles could retail around the £9k mark. Full toolkit and warning triangle etc. Everything works - air con, electrics etc, etc apart from the passenger door lock is lazy and does not always unlock on the button. This seems to improve when the car is used more frequently.

I have the wheel centres, they do not have BMW roundels on them but you could buy some and stick them on if you wanted the BMW logo in the centre. Roof motor has been relocated to the boot and the drains are clear. The steering wheel cover pictured has been binned.

Based in Derby, East Midlands.

I will accept £6,500 for a swift and easy sale. Can add a full MoT if required.18.jpg19.jpg01.jpg02.jpg05.jpg

Beautiful and rare, there are not many about at that mileage. What are the body and paint like; and what is the full spec please? Other members may be more interested in the service history, as very low mileage cars sometimes don’t get serviced very often.

Thanks for your interest. The body and paint are beautiful. I'm not sure what the full spec is - is there anything in particular you want to know whether the car is equipped with or not? It has electric windows / roof / mirrors, BMW business CD stereo, heated leather seats (manually operated).

Has 2 x keys and the original leather wallet with handbook and service book is like new.

8 stamps in the book, the last one being 02/03/2022 for an oil service at 17,299 miles. It has now done 17,430 miles. I bought a new air filter and pollen filter as this last service was oil only and when I changed them the old ones were not even slightly dirty.

There is a folder full of receipts. Brake fluid changed at 16,844 miles last year. Receipt showing the previous owner paid £8,990 in 2019 with 15k miles. New battery in 2020. Antifreeze changed in 2022 at 17,299 miles.

I can take specific pictures if required.

I found a VIN decoder. This is what it says about the vehicle:

This is a car for the ‘purists’ I think, wanting an original low mileage car and not worried about the fact it’s not a 3.0.

You might actually be better off putting the standard wheels back on and selling the 19’s separately.

In addition, I think you’ll potentially have more luck advertising to a wider audience via an EBay Classified add.

It does look a clean car

Wow that is going to be a rare beast.
If it is in the condition it seems, with the service history, that is a collector's car IMHO. I agree about putting the factory wheels back on to keep it original.
Good luck with the sale. I would be talking to auction houses about putting it in a 'modern classic' auction if it were mine.

Google Luke Zachary cars and give him a call.
He specialises in zeds and may be interested.
I know someone on here sold his low mileage z4 to him

Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions. I have taken it off sale for now.

I found this 18k mile Z4 that sold last month for £13.5k (albeit a 2007 3.0L):

I think I am undervaluing my car so will have a think over Christmas what I am going to do. I might call Luke Zachary as well as suggested by Dav the wheel nut and see what he thinks.

If I put the 16 inch alloys back on I will be listing the 19's on here if anyone is interested.

That’s not apples for apples. I disagree with Pondrew (there, I said it), a 2.2 just isn’t a collectors car, whereas a 3.0Si has some kudos.

I really hope OP gets good money for this, but the likelihood is someone like Luke Zachary may sell it for 9, but he’ll only buy it for 6, if that.

TBH, I think it’s a bit of stretch thinking a car’s worth more than it was bought for a few months ago given the current economic climate and time of year.

In its favour [ref]enuff_zed[/ref] says the most fun he’s ever had is with a 2.2

I think 6.5 k is about right if the market was still buoyant, unfortunately the market as pretty much crashed over the last few months, choosing a low mileage 2.2 over a good decent mileage 3.0 si would appeal to a very small market, it's waiting for that right person but that wait could be considerable as I've found out to my disadvantage pretty recently , the longer you hold out it's still got to be maintained, taxed, insured and mot'd, good luck anyway 👍
