2003 Z4 Remote.. Issues

Yesterday, my 2003 Z4 remote wouldn't lock or unlock the doors - but worked on the trunk. I checked another remote key - and it wouldn't work either. The central lock is not working. The passenger window does lower and raise when opening and closing the door - but the drivers window does not. The "door ajar" warning light stays on. I checked all the fuses - OK.
Thinking the problem is the drivers door switch?

Mark, I just went through your kind of problem. First thought the battery in the key was past its sell-by date. Wrong. Thought the door latch actuators had failed. Wrong. Pulled the Zentral Karosserie Elektronik and sent it for rebuilding. Problem solved, and it was easy and inexpensive -- wish I had done that in the first place! Pls say where you are located, or check bmwgm5.com if you are in the States.
