2003 Z4 plastic underbody shield

My son had the Z for a month and was sorry to report the underbody shield had come loose and was temporarily secured. At a glance it seems like it is of little value. Nothing structural and would not seem important to stability at even high highway speeds. Our roads are not salted/sanded. Is there a fix (seems to have come loose in back allowing front to disengage from valance) or discard OK? I can have it on lift and replaced IF needed. John

Are you talking about the shield that runs lengthwise on the drivers side under the car? If so, when I had my 03', I went thru about 3 of those. At one point, my mechanic just took some ties and tied the cables together. It was fine while the replacement shield got put on. Don't know if you really want to run very long without it even though I am sure nothing would be in the road and bounce up to cut some vital cable as you travel in excess of the posted speed limit down the road. In USA, it only cost about $60 or so.
