2003 Z4 headlight replace

Fred, What do you want to replace them with....? Quick search will show you all the options....

You need to remove the front bumper. The rest is obvious. There's a how-to for the bumper in the how-to section by mr_rogers

Not sure this is required to do the replace headlight lamps hence my question.....!

Fred if you turn the wheels on full lock to expose the front inner wheel arch on the side you want to change the lamp you will see a cover which protects the headlamp - near to the outer edge of the wheel arch are two plastic retaining caps twist these and unclip the cover which gives you access to the headlamp assembly from where you can replace the defective lamp. The respective lamps can be removed in their holders by turning to the left. About page 90 in the manual - if you dont have a manual follow the link below.....

Thanks AlanJ for you help................I should have stated that it was a bulb replacement in my 1st post
thanks again for the link

jns, not really sure what you are trying to say. My guess would be that the lights you've bought are not canbus friendly or you could try turning them round. Sometimes this works.

Open the bonnet as well... you'd be surprised how much extra visibility this adds in light when rumaging about inside the light cluster under the wheel arch.

Speaking of headlights... can anyone recommend a kit to convert to 'halo' lights for the E85 ? I love those things, would love to have them on my '04.

There are whole replacement headlights you can buy on a certain auction site which have halos (angel eyes) They're non-standard though. If you have xenons and want to keep them, the only way is to cut them open and insert halos (amazingly can be bought for about £20 on said auction site). Search for a thread called "Clear light and angel eye conversion". The 35 pages on this thread indicate what a big job it is though..
