2003 Z4 E85 3.0i manual - 64k miles -New MOT

advertised elsewhere i presume? this being a z4 forum, most people on here already have a z4...

if you really need it sold, you'll need to run a low reserve auction on ebay. i'd say ebay and autotrader is where 90% of the market is for buying secondhand cars.

However, a lot of people join to buy. Or like me, pick up
another one.

I popped it on eBay and Autotrader Saturday, had a call earlier and some interest on email so looks like I’ve got it there or there abouts :)

Whilst that is true to some extent, it is amazing (to me) where sales can come from. I have now sold two cars on this forum, only one being a Z4, the other being an E92. And I sold a 440i convertible on M3 Cutters of all places (in less than an hour).
If going national I would recommend AT over the 'Bay any day. Ebay is full of bargain hunters and time wasters; AT not so much.

Apart from my Z4 every car I have ever bought I have found on Auto Trader website or in their magazine of old

Them was the days! Every Thursday going to the newsagent and getting the latest AT (and exchange and mart) books.

I sold a car last week via AT. I got full price and had a queue of serious buyers. I advertised the Z4 on eBay and had loads of questions from people but only one serious buyer (then I sold it on here just before).

Sorry OP going off topic.
This is your for sale thread after all! :)

I disagree with smorris. You’ll never get a manual three litre on 65k miles for £3k and a top spec 3.0Si on the same miles will get around £8k, so I reckon £5.5k is about right. True, it’s not a great time of year to be selling a convertible, and silver grey ain’t the most inspiring colour. I’ve said it before (to some criticism), that the forum is a great place to buy a Z4, but not a great place to sell - there are more critics than buyers. I would go for a £79 Autotrader ad every time.

It’s not a problem, add ‘Loot’ and ‘Exchange and Mart’ to the mags I used to buy looking for a motor 😂

Thank you sir, I’ve got it on Autotrader :)

Sorry but it's Sterling grey and it's one of the best colours for the preface lift E85 IMHO. If you look at where his AT advert is, it is in between others of the same age and mileage, so the price must be about right for the market. Surely.

Err, I’m agreeing with you Mikey. Except the colour, sorry.

Just realised this is the same car I 'saved' on the Autotrader app the other day!

I think the relatively short MOT (less than two months left), plus a couple of advisories on the 2022 MOT (and no mention of if they've been fixed) is what is potentially putting people off, plus the fact it's the wrong time of year to sell. Though I still think it's a reasonable price for that mileage and the 3.0 engine.

I love my 2003 2.5i Z4 auto (91k miles at the time of purchase August 2022, and 96k today), but I made the mistake of buying cheap (£3,700) so buying twice, as it only had 1 years history and I've probably sunk close to another £3k into it now, in fixes and improvements, and it's a lower spec car (electric but not heated seats, no satnav and the basic sound system, though it did have factory xenons). It's getting closer to a well sorted car now, but it's always a dilemma knowing when to stop, as i'll never get that money back and long term I want to buy a lower mileage 3.0L example and probably a manual.

If I could turn back the clock and do my first Z4 purchase all over again this would definitely be in the running! Good luck with the sale!

P.S. I love that colour for what it's worth and it's one of the best rims on it too! Better than my dull titan silver!

Thanks for the positive feedback, any potential buyers I would put a 12 month ticket on her, think she will sale through (to be honest, I was going to give it another week and just do it anyways)

As for you car, it's a labour of love, as long as you keep enjoying the car what's the expensive, you can't take it with your buddy!

Even more of a bargain

Thank you sir.

Hopefully someone will want to take her, or I'm going to put her away over the winter and see what happens in Spring.
