Help!
does anyone know where I can by a new drivers door lock cylinder? It was rotating all the time and needs replacing, any advice welcome as I can't seem to find a replacement.
Thanks

Are you sure it's just not locked into place properly?
I just swapped a handle and had the same issue. You do need to make sure it is fitted properly and locked in place by the screw from the rear of the door.

Thanks for your reply enuff_zed but the lock was secured properly when I removed it but turned although properly located.
I need to buy a new one but I can't find one anywhere.
Is there anyone out there who has bought a drivers door lock cylinder who can help?

Fair enough. Just checking.
Not sure where you'd get one tbh.
You'd have to either have it set up to your existing key, or get a key cut to fit the lock, which wouldn't then fit the boot or ignition.

Is it possible that a retaining circlip or something has just come loose inside?

Thanks but no, the lock is broken. The annoying thing is that it is easy to get a lock for a 3 series etc with 2 keys attached but for the Z4.......nada.
I've seen lots of you tube videos on how to replace the lock as it seems to be a common fault but so far no idea where to get one.

Try asking Barry (umfaan) or Stuart (bigwinn).

You'll also get a better response if you put it in the Sales and Wants.

I think you'd also need to recode the keys.

You may find it a simpler job to get a set that includes the matching GM5 module?
