2003 Z4 B pillar sensor repair

on mine clearing the code only survives one startup after then it comes back on again. My light is on (left satellite) and MOT is nov so gonna have to chance a covered bulb and hope for the best.

As I said in last post there is a cheat gadget that stops fault light coming on so no need to tape over bulb which any decent MOT tester will spot. The gadget is covered in an earlier post, think it costs about 40 pounds from eBay.

Jonedge101, whereabouts are you? In case I find one and you want me to code it in.
Down in Dorset
A fair run from Norfolk but I could perhaps fit it into a weekend away if I find one.

Yes it is, perhaps we can meet half-way?
Find a module and take it from there.

I have a replacement unit, plugged in and it's asking for a chassis update, but it still gives a fault code separate to the chassis code. Do you know if both fault codes will go if we enter the chassis? codes are 009888 and 00982b

You need to enter both VIN and system time, then see if it clears.

How on earth did you find one!? I'm still in need! I really don't know where to go from here at this point to be honest, I can't just keep ringing scrappers every week in the hope. What makes it worse, front left spring just exploded and it was just sat on the drive, my baby's in the garage again!!

I know! I've been looking every day as I could probably pass on ten of the damn things!
Still not found anyone who can repair them either.
Don't give up, and i'll let you know if I find any too.

I imported one from a seller in Germany, and it still shows a fault code, so now I have two broken airbag modules
What code does it show? Is this after you have coded the correct VIN and System Time?

Jonedge101 said:
Code 09888, control unit fault. This shows on the unit from Germany, and the one from the car
Is this after you have correctly coded the new module to the car?

No, the garage says the fault code will remain. And so the vin and date have not been entered yet

Seriously?
Why would they not try? Doesn’t sound to me like they know?

I need to find somebody who is willing to give it a go, as you say, the garage are not good

So far from Norfolk dammit!
Not saying the module is definitely good but you have to at least try to code it in first

Do you know what software is needed to recode the airbag? Do you recode it when in the car or connect the module directly?
In the car.
I use what is known as the Eidebas suite - INPA, WinKFP, NCS Expert, Toolset32.

I believe [ref]Street[/ref] has recently used ISTA-P.

I'm down south if people need a hand coding a pillar module. Live in Basingstoke but in Southampton on Sunday and typically every other weekend.
