2003 E85 3.0 smg Reverse light relay location after SMG to manual Swap

Hi everybody,

Been trying to find something related to this but havent found anything. Does anyone know where the reverse light is on this car? I mean, there must be some sort of relay that turns the light on. I need its location to complete my SMG to manual swap Ive done to my Z4. I know in automatics, this realy comes where the salmon one is on SMG equipped BMWs but, what about SMG ones? :|

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS: needless to say, If anyone need help doing their swap just drop me a message. So far I can say its been a success (apart from the reverse light issue.. lol)

Thanks for the answers but I dont think that is the solution. That diagram is for automatic cars not for SMG equipped ones.

I think it was the SMG electronic itself that used to generate the reverse light signal when it is equipped with SMG and not any sort of relay. The problem is that I dont know what wires were the ones that ran to that switch.

I think best thing to do is install a new set of wires from the switch of the new manual gearbox straight to the reverse lights, previously having installed a fuse, obviously, or using the fuse that must be already on the fuse box for that purpose. It is not a problem for me to do so, Im handy with wires but I just meant to avoid installing anything that dont come with the car already, but having installed a manual gearbox, it doesnt make much sense now.... hahaha. Anyways, I will post my progress.

Well, its not been the only issue, in fact, it is the last one, I've gone through a lot of problems but been able to solve them myself. I have mecanical and milling knowledge so bit by bit I could sort it out. Apart from this, the ecu is still not reflashed with manual code but the car runs properly, it just shows the gear sign with the exclamation on it but to be honest, I dont care. Ive overheard the cruise control does not work correctly but I dont care eithetr, in fact, never used it before... As soon as I have time I will take care of the reverse light issue and for me, the job is done, at least, by now...
