2003 BMW Z4 3.0i Cupholder stuck

This is probably a stupid question but does anyone know how to fix a stuck cup holder on this car? I don't want to break it so I am asking if anyone knows how to pull out the cup holder if it doesn't want to come out when you press on it (it uses that press and snap-out feature).

Sadly I can't help with your cup-holder issue. Maybe you could put something like a trim removal tool behind it and gently try to help it spring out? The only issue I've had with mine was when the arm snapped off.

Best to remove the whole air vent (the cup holder and air vent are integrated), then you can see what’s what on the bench. Which side is it on - driver or passenger?

But to do that you need to remove the fixing screw behind the cupholder fascia plate!
To remove that you need to slide it sideways first. The surround will get in the way so try to carefully prise the plate forward just enough so it clears the surround as you slide it over.
