2003 // BMW Z4 3.0 Sterling Grey // £5250 ** DEPOSIT TAKEN **

Thread now updated slightly, with service history and a few of the consumables recently replaced.

In my time it's also had the xenon self-leveling sensor and boot roof sensor replaced, the amplifier replaced (i love the sound system in it so much!), the o/s door membrane replaced and numerous other little bits and bobs. Generally speaking if its needed something doing it's been done :)

Exactly twelve hours later and I've taken an initial deposit to secure it :(

Still a few weeks away from saying goodbye to it completely thankfully, but now need to get it cleaned up and step up the search for a replacement!

FFS. Someone paid a deposit without even seeing it? :headbang:

Aii, just to secure it for first refusal. If he decides he doesn't want to buy it anytime up to shaking hands or I decide I don't want to sell I'm more than happy to refund the deposit, but we've agreed in principle. As it is it'll hopefully be a few weeks until we do the deal, I'm going to get some new tyres and a wheel refurbed and also need to source a decent replacement, and the buyer is happy with that arrangement too as he won't be using it until the summer.

If I'd known you were in a no rush scenario Ste, I'd have offered the same! Second forum car I've missed in as many weeks!

Glad you got it sold though chap. And I bet the new owner will be chuffed.

My old car.

I spoke to the (likely) new owner and I'm glad this car is going to another forum member. It was a good car which i have many happy memories of despite only owning it for a short period of time. If it is still in as good condition as it was (which i'm sure it is) when i waved Ste off in it then the new owner will be very happy indeed.

Congratulations to the new owner and well done Ste on the sale and keeping the car right.

I did it. There's a big thread (or at least there used to be) on here about how to do it.

It's not a job for the faint hearted given what the headlights cost.

Hi All,

Car is now back up for sale. In order to be up front and honest I took a full set of "warts and all" shots showing the odd scuff on the paintwork from this being a daily driver. The potential buyer wasn't happy with a small scuff on the rear bonnet next to the license plate from where some tw** reversed into my a few weeks ago, so have returned his deposit, no problem. A very professional exchange throughout.

You can view the full set of pictures I took here: http://www.barrowafc.net/BMWPics/
*The scuffed alloy wheel is also being repaired prior to any sale.

It's been a daily driver so there is of course the odd discrepancy in the paintwork, hence why it's priced at what it is, including a brand new roof motor, brand new tyres, free set of winter wheels/tyres etc

The car has had a set of brand new Avon ZZ5s for the sale, and is also going to have a new roof motor in the next week as in testing it, it was slightly more laboured than I remember, and I'd hate to sell it and find the roof motor pack up 6 months down the line. I value my reputation on here too much :)

* The compressed gas thing is a magnet as I'm a First Responder with the Ambulance Service so occasionally carry Oxygen Cylinders in the boot. It comes off fine and has been taken off for every bi-weekly clean, so there'll be no trace of it and rest assured it's not been ragged or modded 8)

Very extensive set of photos there Ste and having met you I know how helpful you will be for any prospective buyer - plus you are getting the roof done  .

Do you know what caused the mark on the rear bumper ?

Hi mate,

Indeed, it was a car with trailer reversing into me in a car park, I witnessed it but he drove off and had no license plate on the trailer. Police didn't want to know :x :x :x It was only about 2mph and was just the little black connector on the back of the trailer, but enough to give it the little scuff.

Yeah I'd hate to sell it at anything other than tip top condition, hence why I prefer to get the roof motor done if there's any chance it may be on its way out

That's exactly what I've been after for a long time. But I'm in Brighton. And the price is just a tad over what I want to pay. Or should I say, what my gf would let me pay lol

It's such a sexy beast.... The car I mean....

You could always sell on the OEM wheels with winter tyres :)

Plus as srhutch says, think of the drive home! You could even sell it to your girlfriend as a romantic break in the lake district!

I've sold a few new purchases that exact way
