2003 BMW Z4 2.5 M54 E85 5Speed Manual Maintenance Light

Good evening everyone,

I have a 2003 BMW Z4 2.5 M54 E85 5Speed Manual. I had problems with misfiring and problems with the disa valve and maf sensor, and the lower intake boot for the throttle body was torn up. I replaced all of those parts at once. Then I replaced all o2 sensors(except one), coil packs, and spark plugs(within a week). I left one of the old sensors because I could not get it loose ( I am spraying pb blaster on it to hopefully get it out tonight if it stops raining long enough). I ran up all the codes cleared its self. I was super excited to drive my car after it was garaged for a hot minute. It sounds sooo great. It has never sounded that great since I owned it. its driving well misfiring is gone... WELLLLLL, however, driving home after all the fun, the maintenance light came back on. I got some new codes that popped up, not too sure what to do.



Everything in this car is self-taught. Any help would be great!!!! This car is my baby/ project car! HELP ME GET IT RUNNING

this is the least amount of codes i had on this car by the way.

all my parts are bought for FCPEuro.com and amazon.

so far I had replaced:
Lower control arm bushings (amazon)
control valve gasket (amazon)
valve cover grommet set (amazon)
water pump (amazon)
Thermostat (amazon)
Disa valve (fcpeuro)
lower intake boot to throttle body (amazon)
maf sensor (mass airflow sensor(fcpeuro)
oxygen sensors x4 (fcpeuro)
coil packs (fcpeuro)

Have you had the battery disconnected at anytime you have been working on the car?
Often disconnection can upset the car and set codes when it has detected loss of power when the battery has been disconnected.
I would use your scanner to clear all codes again and run the car to see if the EML lights again then re scan to see what has come back.
I can comment on '0F | IHKA: AUC SENSOR'
This relates to what is known as the stink sensor that detects traffic fumes and closes the Air Con vents so the bad air is not drawn into the car. It works when the settings are on Auto. The sensor is under the front engine bay panel over the radiator, the sensor is a small oblong box clipped to the top of the radiator. Replacement at BMW is circa £70, I bought the actual internal sensor from an electronics company and replaced it in mine when mine failed. The sensor cost circa £17, I did post a thread on how to do this if you have a search for ACU Sensor.

I would imagine the sensor has failed if the signal is missing or there is a broken wire or bad connection. Is this the one you havn't changed yet? If it is then after soaking with penetrating fluid use a good long ring spanner on it so you can get max torque on it to get it out. I found using a ring spanner easier than the special Lambda sensor sockets you can get.

The remaining codes you have may be down to battery disconnection or maybe a bad battery, how old is the battery and is it holding a decent charge?
