2003 3.0i Top Issues

My top goes up about 1/3 of the way and stops, it then starts to "Sink" back down. Nothing I do can make it go past 1/3 up. Ideas

Roof motor on its way out my friend.

One of the top issues with Z4's. Which is what I thought this thread might be about when I clicked on it. :lol:

There's plenty of information on here including a member who will repair them for less than a BMW dealer would do. Have you checked your roof drain holes yet to see if the motor is submerged in water yet ?

Sorry I did not know the protocol. I live in Bozeman MT and have a 2003 3.0i Z4 (5 years), a 1998 (12 years) 2.8 Z3. Great driving and wonderful time can be had here. Anyone needing advise on the area is welcome to contact.

I garage both cars and do not believe the drain holes are plugged.

Wow.. Bozeman Montana, USA ! I dont think our roof guy travels that far, but maybe you could tempt him !
