2003 - 2008 differences

I'm trying to decide between a cheap 2003/2004 3.0i and pricier 2007/2008 z4 3.0i

What are the big improvements? They look similar. Are there any noticeable differences between years? The specs and interior look good even on the 2003.

Biggest difference will be the engine, M54 231bhp in the 2003, and N52 258bhp in the 2008.

Other changes are mainly cosmetic.

I had the same dilemma & 4 weeks ago (yesterday) went for a beautiful 2004 plate 3.0! So happy with my choice, I got such a good deal high spec 56k & feels like new. Really glad I saved the money, was looking at spending around £11-12k so now I can put the money towards my next ride in a few years time.
