2000 posts :D ... about that in miles to  .... however probably 2000 smiles also

Says it all really!

At school I was always a little different to the rest of the crowd, a little more reserved perhaps a little more mature. Now a little wiser I'm still referred to as the grandad of most groups and I think you can see this in the initial predictable stages of my car history (at the time of joining the forum):

The Micra sums it up well (4 years I had that red bubble!!) followed by a short stint in my mums E36 320i, which I then traded for the Mitsibishi Colt Mirage. Which to be fair I should have kept as its probably depreciated only £1500 in the last 4 years!

Then I got my Scirocco which I had wanted since I was about 16 and man how I loved that car! I enjoyed tinkering with it and just the pure styling but a few years later again I would get a yearning .. this time for the sublime E24 quite possibly the best BMW ever made IMHO.

It seemed sure that I would be with these cars for years to come, but then all of a sudden :fuelfire: BANG I was hit by the E86 bug.

I joined the forum over 3.5 years ago as an eager young 25 yr old and as you do started searching autotrader, pistonheads, ebay, etc daily. I had always wanted a car in black with red leather and this was my opportunity to do it in a very sexy package.

I knew straight away that I couldn't afford the insurance on any E86 but this did not deter me from signing up to the forum and keep learning and searching. At first I wasnt sold by the front end but its grown on me and of course the rear end leaves NOTHING to be desired!!

Roll on 2011 and I had the bug so bad I was finally able to put my man maths above repute

Nice touch mate  great post / great cars :) still loving everything about my black C .
They look so different in light/day & near/close up . Walking back towards it from a distance there are so many curves & features to take in , ,

Congratulations on your 2000 post and great write up, you got there in the end with your car history, looks great 8)

Nicely done Bluestreak. Great Transformers font usage and loving the fact that all of your previous cars could actually be a Decepticon! At least thats how I was looking at them anyway! Maybe not the Micra (Autobot of course) but def the others.

Congrats on the 2k and and here's to many more good times

PS. gorgeous 6er.

congrats and nice to see a fellow z4 owner really thinking about his purchase, running costs and sensibly making the choice.

Im 23 and bought my z4 a few months back, I get absolutely scowled at every time I stop for fuel... Doesn't mean 'Daddy bought you that car' which I get quite a lot...

I did exactly what you did, planned my expenses and made a purchase knowing that I could afford it.

Good show! Grats on the 2000 posts.

Congratulations Bluestreak56! Nice write up, great Zed. Being a fellow West Londoner I've appreciated that "rear end" many a time as you're the chosen one I follow to and from meets we both have been to, (usually since I'm too lazy to figure out directions/punch into Satnav) Thanks for that
