I think all our Z's electronics will give out before any of the mechanical bits..

Sadly I think you may be right if my 17 year old 3 Series is anything to go by! I'm just glad my 16 year old Z4 has far less electrical nonsense. :)

Congratulations to all those E85 owners whose cars attain "classic" status this year.

This thread simply makes me smile. such a shape will live forever 8)

The electronics on the other hand.

It occurred to me looking at the current fleet that some turn 20 this year (march and may for my 03 cars)

I wondered if there are any Jan 03 build cars that have now turned 20?

Stuart

Stuart, I think the oldest/first registered z4 on the Forum was registered on a 52 reg,as it came over from America, and had been a very early registered example.
It belongs to Matt (Aboues , who's had it all these years, and still does

I often wondered if there were any 52 plate z4

Good to know

Yes,in all my years in here, and tons of meets,Aebous' car is the only one I've ever seen on a 52 reg.
Has to be a rare thing. I reckon?
As said,it came from America with him,and got registered onto UK plates when shipped into the country.
Since then it's been to Japan with him for a few years then back to the U.S.A now.

Mine is 20 years old this year and if I remember rightly I am the 13th lucky owner.

Bit rough around the edges, but it is older than my first ever car was and that was fit for scrap before I turned 20, 11 years ago!

Great car, from a distance there is nothing wrong with it aesthetically with no signs of rusting. The design is unlike anything around nowadays, and the lack of any digital interior is quite comforting.
